Waking up to a thunderstorm and watching it rain for hours the morning of your wedding isn’t exactly any bride’s ideal wedding day.  But that was the reality for Kayla and Nate on their wedding day in early June and neither one of them batted an eye while it poured all morning.  As luck would have it the rain stopped and the dark clouds lifted leaving the perfect overcast day for their wedding.  A little background, Kayla is the cousin of Ashley and Emily, twins that I had the privilege of shooting both weddings for a few years ago.  Their families are some of the most welcoming families I have ever worked with and it was such a pleasure and treat to work with them again!!

The details for their wedding were just phenomenal.  Kayla’s bridesmaids wore a dusty blue off the shoulder dress and Nate and his groomsmen wore light grey suits.  Paired with the sunflower inspired floral arrangements it was an amazing combination.  Kayla’s mom had an amazing collection of antiques, I could have roamed around her house staring at dishes and trinkets for days and we even utilized one of the little ring dishes in the detail photos.  And can we please talk about the reception decor?!  Stacey from Legacy Acres did an AMAZING job!!

Kayla was right, it was just a really really good day.
