Lake Bemidji Wedding | John and Lindsey

I think Mother Nature wanted to see how far she could push me this summer. Three weekends in a row with rainy mornings on Saturday and on John and Lindsey’s wedding day Mother Nature definitely pulled out all the stops. It was a deluge of rain complete with tons of wind and probably a little hail if my weather app was telling me the truth. The plan was to just keep smiling and pray for the weather to clean up it’s act. At one point the parking lot was a complete lake, but we kept on smiling and getting the wedding party psyched for the day!

We originally had the first look set up indoors at the Hampton but just when Lindsey was about to round the corner I asked her to wait while I took one last look outside. Low and behold the rain had STOPPED!!! We rushed to set up the first look outside and completed all of wedding photos outdoors. The sun came out just as the ceremony was starting at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji and stayed out until the reception was well under way. I won’t lie, I was a little disappointed that the clouds came before we had a chance to sneak out for more bride and groom portraits but I think we did pretty well regardless.

John is one of the most organized punctual grooms I have ever had and these two are just the perfect mix of laid back and on point. And can we talk about their wedding party for a second and family for a second?! First of all their families are so kind and welcoming and secondly the wedding party (I mean, I’m biased since a few of my past brides and grooms were in the party) was so much fun to hang out with, makes the wedding day go by so fast and fun to boot!
